New Opportunities in Logistics and Supply Chain Management

Previous months have shown the importance and the need for robust and resilient logistics and supply chains. Even though this development causes additional challenges and burdens, it also comes along with various opportunities for science and practice. One example is the systematic generation, collection and analysis of data to predict potential disruptions or stockouts in supply chains in order to increase resilience. Both, science and practice have recognized that data-based business is an important capability for future competitiveness. Artificial intelligence, blockchain, supply chain risk management and industry 4.0 are just a few examples of the continous changes we are facing. HICL 2021 focuses on research concepts and ideas that reveal new opportunities and provide insights into the future of supply chain management and logistics.
